Good working environment.~~Description of Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform, or supervise the performance of, monthly reconciliations of vendor statements with vendor balances reported in the accounts payable subsidiary ledger. • Perform the monthly general ledger closing process including, but not limited to, the finance charge calculation, the accounts receivable distribution, the accounts payable distribution, etc. • Prepare all balance sheet account analyses on a monthly basis. Conduct any necessary research and follow-up. • Prepare cash reports and bank account reconciliations. • Review and approve the general ledger account coding of all invoices. • Prepare reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger (accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, revenue/billing system) and conduct any necessary research and follow-up. • Prepare and/or update property and equipment schedules and related depreciation expense computations on a monthly basis. • Prepare and post journal entries for recurring accruals and deferrals and any other required general ledger adjustments. • Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. • Prepare management reports and computations of key performance indicators. • Work closely with the Credit and Collections Department to identify Credit Memos and Debit Memos that may be required to adjust accounts receivable balances. • Ensure that the supporting documents and approvals included in voucher packages to support cash disbursements are accurate and complete. • Ensure that all payments to vendors are processed accurately and on a timely basis. • Prepare work papers and other analyses and information required by the company’s independent auditors in connection with the performance of the annual audit. • Prepare work papers and other analyses and information required by the company’s tax advisors in connection with the preparation of the annual income tax returns. • Prepare Excel worksheets, graphs, and PowerPoint presentations as may be required by other Divisions or Departments. • Prepare, or supervise the preparation of, all required state annual reports and other regulatory filings. Ensure that these reports are filed on a timely basis, and that all required registration and filing fees are paid. • Provide meaningful suggestions and recommendations about daily operations and procedures to improve efficiency and generate cost reductions. • Assist management with the implementation of procedures to improve internal accounting controls. • Provide assistance with the preparation and compilation of the annual operating budget and the annual capital expenditure budget. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual “budget versus actual" variance analyses and provide variance explanations as needed. • Perform other duties and responsibilities and provide assistance with special projects as may be requested from time to time.Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, with a Major in Accounting Experience Requirements: • Minimum of two years of private industry accounting experience in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger account analysis, budgeting, and monthly and year-end financial reporting. • A strong bottom-line orientation with good analytical skills and business instincts, and the confidence and credibility to work well with operating management. • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Public accounting audit experience a plus...
