About Commercial Waste Disposal & Amp Recycle Drivers Jobs in Maryland
Behind the cleanliness and orderliness of office building and commercial and industrial complexes are workers who make up the janitorial staff. They are the ones who make the premises clean, remove clutter and waste, organize stuff and tidy the rooms, lobbies and hallways. They are the ones who choose to take up the lowly work of cleaning, a profession that can be fraught will certain risks and hazards.
Many people tend to look down on janitors. Most janitors do not have high educational attainment and special skills, aside from cleaning and certain mechanical or technical skills that they learn from veteran janitors. They have no certification and license and receive little training. Other than that, most janitors are contractual or temp workers and they receive low pay and little benefits.
Nowadays people would cringe at having to work as a janitorial staff. They hate cleaning and emptying the trash bins. They hate sweeping the floors, dusting furniture and picking up clutter. The job is often for people with low educational attainment and for those who are still unemployed and in badly need of work. Someday you would consider ending your career as a janitor.
Despite their low status, janitors do deserve respect. It is not their fault that they end up in janitorial services. They have no other career options to avail of and they have mouths to feed, so they cannot choose jobs in these hard times. They forgo their pride and they take up menial labor.
But if it is not for our janitors and other cleaning professionals, our workplace would be an unhealthy place to work in. Without our janitors, who would empty the bins, collects the wastes, clean our desks, tables and cubicles, and maintain and clean our equipment? Without them, there would be no one to ensure our workplace is clean and disease-free. There would be no one to disinfect the workplace and remove hazardous wastes.
In short, we owe to the janitorial staff our health and success in the workplace. They deserve our due respect. They are part of our team.
